Tariffville Neighborhood Plan Update
Tuesday July 23rd at 7 pm- The Simsbury Planning Commission met at Trinity Church. The agenda to the meeting is attached. During the meeting the Commission discussed the neighborhood plan update and upcoming activities. Below is a summary of the discussion.
Tonight we met with Mr. Robert Collins. He is with SLR Consulting, the company doing the neighborhood survey on Tariffville. Click here to view their website. Tonight’s meeting was the official ‘kick-off’ for the project, where members of the Simsbury Planning Commission and the public were able to meet and walk through the process of the neighborhood survey. Mr. Collins explained the timeline of the process, which is expected to run through the beginning of 2025.
In early August Mr. Collins expects a Story Map website to be published. This website will be interactive and updated as the neighborhood survey progresses. I intend to have this website linked in this weekly email as soon as it becomes available.
Later in August, a 20-minute questionnaire will be published in online and print versions. It will be available through town websites, the story map website, and paper copies. You can request a paper copy through the zoning and planning department at the town hall. I will have links to the online version on the website and the weekly emails.
Finally, on August 21 at 6 pm, the community is encouraged to come to an open house at Trinity Church, 11 Church Street, to meet with members of the planning department and the neighborhood survey team from SLR. We would love to see a strong showing from the community, and we encourage you to come and invite your neighbors.
